Some panels need replacement because they’re too small for modern loads — that’s a panel upgrade. Other panels need replacement because they’re actively dangerous — that’s a panel replacement. The most common offenders we still see in older Oahu homes are Federal Pacific Stab-Lok panels and Zinsco panels, both of which have known fire-risk failure modes.
Sparky and Sons replaces these (and other failing panels) as a same-amperage swap when the existing service is appropriately sized, or as a combined upgrade-and-replacement when the existing service is undersized. Either way, we coordinate the HECO disconnect, swap the panel, and bring the install up to current code.
